Ex Jesus Pareja car which raced in the official Eurocup Renault series in 1983, winning some races and scoring good positions, as it can be proven at Frederic Losphied’s book. After that, the car was sold to Mr. Pedroche, who converted it into rally version, participating at several rallyes of the Spanish Rally Championship. Tragically Mr. Pedroche lost his life racing with another R5 GT Turbo and the car sat in his garage until 2007, when it was sold directly from Mr. Pedroche’s family to our company. The car underwent a nut and bolt restoration and is actually in perfect racing conditions and matching its original Eurocup specifications.

Bought in the USA East Coast back in 2008. Ex Patrick Jacquemart. This is the […]

Bought in the USA East Coast back in 2008. Ex Patrick Jacquemart.

This is the exact trace and history of this vehicle:

After the tragedy of Mr. Jacquemart at Mid-Ohi, the Renault USA racing team was extinguished and the remaining cars and parts were sold. This Renault Le Car IMSA GTU showed up in 1986 in a workshop in Swanee, GA. The workshop was called Sunny South Racing and was owned by Ron Horvath. He and a Gentlemen by the name of Bill Gucker had just purchased the car and the entire stock of Renault racing parts. Sunny South was importing R5 Turbo 1 and 2′s. The car was one of the units built by Renault Racing USA from Livonia, Michigan. There were 3 cars built to contest the IMSA GTU series of which the first was the race car driven by Patrick Jaquemart, in which he lost his life (destroyed), the second was the spare car (now located in Phoenix, Arizona) and the third, which is this car ,was the third car which went to all the races to help promote the sale of the Renault Le Car. Sadly Patrick was killed testing the first car at Mid Ohio which led to Renault Racing USA to close its operations. At that time Archer Brothers of Duluth, MN, purchased all the inventory from Renault Racing USA which included the second race car, this third car and many racing parts. The second car was campaigned on the west coast and later purchased by the U-Haul corporation. It is still in his position. Archer Brothers later advertised this car at which time is was purchased by Ron Horvath and Bill Gucker. Not only they did purchase this car but also many racing spare parts. Later the two decided to split the inventory. Bill Gucker took the car and Ron Horvath the racing parts. Soon thereafter I contacted Bill Gucker and purchased the car from him. It sat inside the garage of the previous owner (near New York) for several years and then he decided to have it race ready for HSR (Historic Sportscar Racing) in the USA. The car was sent to Laminar Concepts in Media, PA and Gerry Fink put the car back together in its original state. The previous owner, Mr. Van der Steur raced the car in HSR at Road Atlanta and Watkins Glen in 2003. Then it was storaged for some more years until it purchased by this company.

This car was the original TDC ex works which won the 1984 and 1985 Swiss Rally Championships with Eric Ferreux and Serge Audermars as codriver. In 1983 the car was driven by the Swiss driver Bering, who finished second in the championship with the same score as the champion Eric Ferreux (40 points). Ferreux could win that year because of the number of rallys won during the 1983 season.
in 1985, when the Group B rally cars were forbidden by the FIA, Renault Swiss sold the car to Finland, where we bought it back in 2.000. Everything on this car is fully original, engine, papers, chassis number, shell, suspensions, official papers, etc….

The first car wearing the number plate 194FGL75 from Chatriot was burned at the Rally Garrigues. After that, the car was reassembled with a brand new kit and Maxi shell from Renault sport. Everything on the car is fully original, original Maxi turbo chassis, original body, matter rollcage, original engine, suspensions, interior, chassis number, number plates and papers from Renault Sport ex Chatriot. As everybody knows, there were 12 Maxi Turbo cars. Additionally to that, there were another 8 complete cars disassembled for spare parts. Some of the 8 cars were assembled by Renault under private orders, some remained for spare parts and when the Group B era reached its end, the remaining spare parts served to assemble the last Maxis with the remaining spare parts and Maxi shells. Some of them were used as 4X4 for gravel (2 units) and were very successful rallying in gravel, as the Fouya car from Roussell or the Phillips car from Barreras.

The authentic and only real VA-4650-M with its original 5 Maxi Turbo Chassis, body, number […]

The authentic and only real VA-4650-M with its original 5 Maxi Turbo Chassis, body, number plate, Matter rollcage and documentation. It’s said that there are another two cars in France and another one in Japan but the only one wearing the Carlos Sainz’s chassis number and plates, is this one. Sainz finished second overall at the 1986 Spanish rally championship. Then, when the Group B era was over, this chassis from Carlos was given by Renault Spain to Guillermo Barreras, who converted the car into a 4X4 gravel version winning with it the Spanish gravel rally championship in 1988 with livery from Phillips (painted in blue). In 1989 Barreras participated with it at the same championship finishing second after an unbeatable Lancia Delta S4 also with livery from Phillips(painted in red). The shell has still got the evidence of the hole for the transmission which went from the gearbox to the front differential, the original Matter rollcage with its aluminum label, the original cage (4 digits stamped on the back right side of the shell) and the original number plates and chassis number. The car is undergoing a nut and bolt restoration and will be finished in a few months.
