1997 Lamborghini Diablo VT Roadster

•European specifications
•One of an estimated 330 Roasters built
•Comprehensive service history
•Circa 13,200 kilometers from new

After 17 years in production, the legendary Countach was replaced by the Diablo, which on its arrival was the fastest, most advanced and most expensive Lamborghini ever built. First exhibited publicly at Monaco in January 1990, the Diablo improved on its illustrious predecessor in every way, setting a new benchmark in supercar design. Nobody can have been surprised to learn that it had been styled by Marcello Gandini, the man responsible for the Lamborghini Miura and Countach, for the family resemblance was obvious.

Stretched to 5.7 litres for the Diablo, Lamborghini’s 48-valve V12 engine gained fuel injection for the first time, producing a maximum of 492bhp. With more power and a lower drag coefficient than the Countach, the Diablo easily eclipsed its forebear, exceeding 200mph (322km/h) on test. More importantly, its acceleration and top speed figures were marginally better than those of the Ferrari F40. Four-wheel drive Diablo VT and Targa-style open roadster versions soon followed.

One of an estimated 330 Diablo Roadsters ever built, this car was an european version which was delivered to its first owner in Muskat, Oman on October 28th, 1997 . The car was delivered through the Omani Lamborghini official dealer Shanfari for his majesty the sultan of Oman, who ordered it as a present for Mr Taher, a close to the crown Omani VIP. This first owner drove this beauty for just a few hundred kilometers. In 2003, the car was sold to Japan showing on the odometer less than 1,500 km. It was imported by the Japanese company Car Gallery Yoshizawa Ltd of Suzuka, where it was registered on December 24th, 2003. Then the car was sold on July 29th, 2005 to Tokai Logistics Service Ltd of Shizuoka who used it very occasionally and kept it until November 6th, 2009 when it got sold to the company Aplus Co, Ltd of Osaka. On March 12th, 2014 the car was purchased by Mr. Kenji Ishikawa of Okayama who was just a broker, and sold it a few weeks later on May 7th, 2014 to Mr. Ichiro Nakano of Hiroshima who enjoyed it until November 2023 where it was purchased by The Classic Road. All owners used it very 0ccasionally and carried out the required servicing. Expertly cared for, this very rare open supercar is described by the vendor as in generally great condition. With its amazing, rare, and elegant color combination of Bianco (white) with red interior, this car is a welcome change from the loud colors the Diablo is often associated with. Importantly, it ticks all the boxes as a collector’s car, being from a limited series and one of the last Lamborghini’s produced prior to the Audi take-over. The fact that it is also one of the last supercars to have a conventional manual gearbox only makes it even more desirable. Accompanying documentation consists of the original sets of keys, history of the japanese department of motorvehicles proving its original milage and ownerships, european import documents, original leather pouch with books, original Alpine radio system, etc… This sophisticated and special vehicle underwent a complete service and a full body paint as the previous owner changed the color from its original white to orange so we decided to repaint it back to its original and beautiful white/red color combination. It is equipped with its original and very pricy rear spoiler and looks absolutely as it was born in 1997. It shows 13.500 original km on the odometer, which can be proved with the original documents available. The majority if not all services were carried out by the Lamborghini official dealer Azabu who serviced it when it was driven for just 1’578 km, then at 5’815 km, at 6’579 km and at 9’436 km. This last service was done on October 2022. The official export certificate proves that the car had 11,000 km in April 2014 and 13,000 km in 2016, which means that the car was very little used for 7 years as, on October 2023, when we purchased this unit, the car was showing just 13’089 km.

This unit is an extreme recreation of the 3.0 CSL gr 2 race car. It is based on an E9 from 1973. The car was built in 2010 to the highest standard for Mr Ralf Floman who achieved an incredible score. It is a nut and bold restoration with a BMW M50 engine offering over 430 HP. The body panels are made in Kevlar reducing the weight to the minimum. Weight 990 kg. Dry-sumped engine with the most solid and best possible advanced racing technology of its period. It comes with the most sophisticated and robust roll-cage, bucket seat, Martelius exhaust system, adjustable suspensions, state-of-the-art fuel tank, Motec ace ECU, electric injectors, Getrag gearbox 265/5 dogleg with streat gears, 188 with 5.11 BMW differential, slip differntial at 40% and a long etc…

Introduced in 2005, the Ferrari Superamerica was a convertible version of the 575M Maranello; it featured an electrochromic glass panel roof which rotated 180° at the rear to lie flat over the boot taking 60 seconds for operation. Patented Revocromico the roof incorporates a carbon-fiber structure that is hinged on the single axis with a luggage compartment lid, allowing access to the latter even with an open roof. The roof was manufactured in collaboration with French glass specialist Saint Gobain. With the roof open, the rear window, apart from holding the third stoplight, also acts as a wind deflector. This roof design was previously used on a 2000 Alfa Romeo Vola, designed by Leonardo Fioravanti. The Superamerica used the higher-output tune of the V12 engine used on the 575M, codenamed the F133 G, rated at 540 PS (397 kW; 533 hp) and Ferrari marketed it as the world’s fastest convertible car, with a top speed of 320 km/h (199 mph).

Total production amounted to only 559 units; this number followed Enzo Ferrari‘s philosophy that there should always be one fewer car available than what the market demanded.

This particular car is a one owner car since new and went sold new through the official Korean Ferrari dealer Kuz Plus Corporation to one of the most important and famous VIP´s of the Korean society. It was always serviced by then until 2014 went they closed and then later on by the new Ferrari dealer FMK Corp when they opened its doors in 2014 and until today. It went serviced for the last time by FMK Corp on April 6th, 2023 including timing belt and a new set of tires.

The car looks and drives as new, showing on the odometer real 7’500 miles, which can be proven with the yearly inspection of the Korean official Motor Vehicle Department as well as with the FMK Corp Ferrari dealer invoices. It comes with its original leather pouch including all its books except for the service book which remained with Kuz Plus Corp but it comes with all invoices from the official Ferrari dealer FMK Corp showing in 2014 a mileage of less than 2’000 miles so almost new when they started servicing the car and until the last service done by them which shows the mileage of 7’414, which correspond to almost the actual mileage on the car. It comes with its two original ignition keys as well as both remote controls, its car cover, all set of original tools, first aid kit, flat tyre repair kit, steering wheel cover, seats cover, etc….

It was never crashed or repainted except for the front bumper which was just refreshed to cover the tiny stone chips created by the normal road use. Pic available of the bumper before and after the refreshment to prove the absence of any minor dent or damage. It was originally manufactured in its actual and very desirable Rosso Scuderia showing its original sticker inside the engine compartment with code FER-323. This color differs substantially from the most common Ferrari Corsa and makes it look astonishing. The elegant black interior shows almost no wear of use and the car drives and works as new. The paint, exterior rubbers, wheels, floors and interior look excellent. The opening and closing of the roof top operate perfectly but only the dimming system of the roof is defect as in the majority of the 575 Superamerica. It was a well known factory defect expressed on every Superamerica specialized chats. The car is a US version which spent its entire life in Korea, registered under the same owner’s name and until it was purchased by us and then imported in the UAE (Dubai) on May 2023. This very limited edition vehicle can be sold everywhere and even be reimported back in the US as it shows the specific decal with the US homologation allowing the car to be reimported and registered in the US, Canada and the majority of markets.

As a serious piece of performance work, it is a formidable foe to Porsche’s 911 GT3 RS—albeit one that is a bit hard-core for regular street use. Which is probably why AMG didn’t bother to let us drive its even higher-test GT R Pro version on the road, instead sending us straight on to the 2.8-mile Hockenheimring Formula 1 racing circuit, home of the 2019 German Grand Prix. Even more exciting, it was raining on our drive day.

Although our fair-weather photos show otherwise, a steady spring shower kept each of its 17 turns and several long straights sopping wet for the entirety of our session. You’ll just have to trust us on that one. Despite the conditions—and the fitment of the car’s (no-cost) optional Pirelli P Zero performance street tires in place of the standard Michelin Pilot Cup 2 almost-slicks—there was no doubting the GT R Pro’s potential. If anything, the rain amplified its capabilities.

Mechanically, the GT R Pro employs the same boosted AMG V-8 (577 hp, 516 lb-ft of torque) and seven-speed dual-clutch transaxle as the regular GT R, although the car’s enhanced performance necessitated tuning revisions for its active engine mounts, gearbox, and limited-slip differential. A deep, snarling roar fills the cabin when you mat the accelerator, and the dual-clutch automatic still snaps off rapid-fire upshifts and smartly downshifts and holds gears through corners. Effectively laying down the AMG’s prodigious power below 100 mph was an act of patience and caution, even with the excellent wet-weather traction of the Pirellis, but the GT R Pro could still flood your body with endorphins as it blasted out of corners.

Piloting the GTR R Pro was the highlight of sampling all of Mercedes-AMG’s 2020 GT coupe models. The new model year brings LED headlights across the lineup to match those introduced on the 2019 AMG GT 4-Door, as well as a brilliant 12.3-inch configurable instrument display and a larger 10.3-inch central infotainment screen. More important—especially at high speeds in the wet—are the improved ergonomics brought by the revised center console with its capacitive-touch controls for the myriad performance settings, as well as the update to Mercedes’s contemporary steering-wheel layout featuring a new drive-mode selector dial and a redundant digital touchpad for performance adjustments. Further distinguishing the GT R Pro are its redesigned carbon-fiber roof panel and available neon green or dark matte gray stripes. Pricing for the 150 examples that will make it to the U.S. starting in late 2019 has yet to be released. But the entry fee in Germany converts to about $238,000 as of this writing—a $60K premium over a 2019 AMG GT R coupe with the optional carbon-ceramic brakes and the pair of carbon-fiber trim packages that are standard on the Pro.

The rather extensive list of modifications starts with the suspension. The GT R Pro’s dampers are adjustable, with separate compression rates for low- and high-speed movement. Both torsion bars are adjustable, too, the front one made of carbon fiber and the rear hollow steel. The GT R uses Uniball spherical bearings on its rear-axle lower wishbones; the Pro adds them to the upper wishbones. These bearings have no play at all, meaning suspension geometry won’t change even under high loads. AMG even threw in a carbon-fiber underbody shear panel to help stiffen the body further. Even more stiffness comes from the bolt-in steel half-cage, part of the standard Track Pack, with accommodations to install racing harnesses and an accompanying fire extinguisher. Unfortunately, the cage and extinguisher won’t be available in North America or China, but in those markets, the Pro comes with matte carbon trim and a trunk-mounted chassis brace.

To keep everything in line, AMG retuned the R’s electronically controlled dynamic engine and transmission mounts, while the driver and passenger get belted into clear-coated carbon fiber bucket seats, or AMG’s performance seats in America, Canada and China.

Then, there’s the aero package. Immediately notable is the bigger rear wing sitting on milled aluminum brackets. The new carbon fiber roof has a lowered mid-section to channel air to the spoiler, and there’s a redesigned front apron with clear-coated carbon flicks on either side and a large front splitter with metal braces that scream business. The front fender louvers may remind you of the Porsche GT2 RS, while the massive aero element at the rear fenders is pure McLaren 600LT-style, mostly because there are only so many ways designers can work with airflow.

All these clear-carbon bits, plus the GT R Pro’s standard ceramic brakes and forged wheels help shave six seconds off the lesser GT R’s Nürburgring time, in the hands of someone who was told not to worry about curb damage. So, what happens when you find yourself at an F1 track—the Hockenheimring—and feel the urge to dial the GT R Pro into “Master” mode?

Heavy rain and standing water on this otherwise straightforward circuit told me I shouldn’t. And then I thought, okay, but what if I just follow five-time DTM and multiple endurance race champion Bernd Schneider’s lines as closely as possible? Obviously, I got sabotaged again, because not only could I not see his lead car from all the spray, but Bernd also didn’t stick to just one line for his laps, making my whole copycat effort futile.

There comes a moment on your way out of Hockenheim’s fast left-hander when your speed in the AMG GT R Pro exceeds what a sane mind would recommend in the wet. The car then begins a four-wheel drift before the ESP goes tak-tak-tak-tak-tak and the intervention cuts the understeer, allowing for even more speed before you can test the ABS at the next corner. You don’t know how much slower a standard GT R would be under the same conditions, but you do believe everything Mercedes says about the Pro’s chassis enhancements, aero improvements, and the wet performance of Michelin’s Pilot Sport Cup 2 ZPs.

In a dark color without the vinyl stripes, the Pro will be a menacing toy. As a road car, it will be harder on your back than the standard R. On track, you might want to master the Pro before the inevitable Black Series drops the mic with, we assume, more than 600 horsepower. But talk about a good problem to have.

This particular car is a GCC version showing just 7500 km and just one owner car always serviced by the official MB AMG dealer. It comes with full PPF protection and it finds itself in perfect original looking and drivable conditions.

Arriving in 2006 at the Geneva Auto Show as the replacement for the 575M Maranello, […]

Arriving in 2006 at the Geneva Auto Show as the replacement for the 575M Maranello, the front-engine V12 flagship 599 GTB Fiorano was a stunning, modern, high performance Gran Touring car in keeping with a long tradition of superlative sports cars. Incorporating the latest in aerodynamics and materials technology, mechanical improvements including a revised version of the F1 transaxle, F1-Trac traction control, an all new aluminum chassis (a first for Ferrari), and active aerodynamics with computer controlled downforce capability, all driven by the amazing front-mid mounted Enzo-derived 6 liter V12 engine. With an output of 612hp, the Fiorano lived up to its high-speed test track namesake, delivering a commanding 206 mph top speed and 0-60 mph test times in 3.7 seconds.

Penned by the extraordinary Pininfarina/Ferrari design team of Frank Stephenson and Ken Okuyama, the design has been heralded as one of the most successful GT packages, capturing both superb aerodynamics and stunning visual features, including the distinctive “floating” rear sail panels which directly funnel high speed air into a downforce stabilizing tail surfacing edge, unique to the Fiorano design. Throughout the car, unique functional scoops and venting details carefully define the surfacing while integrating key cooling requirements for high speed braking, and heat dissipation. A technical tour-de-force of engineering and design, the Fiorano remains one of the finest and most balanced GT cars ever produced by Ferrari.

This particular car is an 28’800 km example, which has been impeccably maintained by the same Ferrari dealer who sold it when new. It is a very rare and factory HTGE version which includes all extra sports features. Ferrari didn’t disclose the exact numbers of factory HTGE cars but it’s believed to be below 500 units for the entire world. The Ferrari 599 GTB Fiorano HGTE (HGTE being an abbreviation of Handling Gran Turismo Evoluzione) is an upgrade package for the 599 designed to improve the car’s handling. It includes a modified set-up with stiffer springs and a rear anti-roll bar as well as new calibration settings for the Delphi MagneRide magneto-rheological shock absorbers when the manettino is at its sportier settings. The ride height has also been lowered, resulting in a low center of gravity. The package also includes optimized tyres featuring a compound that offers improved grip. The car’s electronic systems were also changed. The gearbox’s shift times were faster in high-performance settings, while new engine software provided an improved response. The exhaust was modified to produce a more marked and thrilling sound under hard usage while still delivering the right comfort levels at cruising speed. The exterior and interior were upgraded with more carbon fiber components and the car also included new 20-inch wheels. Originally delivered to Dubai (UAE), the car was highly optioned including a rare and desirable “rosso scuderia” color which makes the car even more beautiful.

Today the car presents in essentially as new condition. The paintwork has been beautifully preserved and shows glossy throughout with excellent clear reflections. The lighting and glass are clear and crisp with excellent detailing and superb luster. The beautiful wheels are in excellent condition, accented by the red calipers and Ferrari center crests. All emblems and script are in exceptional condition again, as with all details surrounding the car, essentially as new.

The interior is visually stunning with excellent finishes throughout, exhibiting no appreciable signs of wear in any areas save for very minor evidence of use on the driver’s seat bolsters. The carpets, leather, and dashboard are excellent, with just the right level of sheen to the leather surfaces. The HTGE sport seats are elegantly accented with black piping and inserts, highlighted against the factory black carpeting. Glossy Carbon Fiber trim appears at nearly every turn, adorning the dash and console, door panels, lining the instrument cluster and seat frames. The switches and controls are like new as well with just a hint of surface mellowing on a few of the more frequently used knobs.

The engine compartment and engine have been exceptionally well-maintained and properly detailed, preserving factory finishes and correct hardware, while retaining proper factory labels as the car was delivered. The trunk compartment is very clean, housing the 6-CD changer and factory red manual pack and assorted manuals. The underside is correctly shrouded by airflow management shields, which are in very nice condition. Visible suspension and engine components are clean and free from notable damage, reflective of the low miles on this car.

The car starts with a press of the F-1 inspired steering wheel starter, igniting into a glorious resonant rumble, filling the cabin with authority. Once underway, the power is smooth and progressive under gentle city driving, with no hint of the extraordinary speed and acceleration this phenomenal car is capable of achieving. Entering the highway, acceleration is crisp and riveting as 100 kmh comes up in a matter of seconds. Stability and braking are excellent, offering touring composure and spirited passing literally at your fingertips. The car comes with recent service records, two keys, factory books contained in the correct factory case, tools and a car cover.

This is a great opportunity to acquire an exceptionally nice, highly optioned Ferrari 599 Fiorano HTGE. Developed with premier technical features, stunning design, and a uniquely appointed interior this beautiful car is ready for further shows, enjoyable driving, or continued preservation representing one of the very best GT cars that Ferrari has ever offered. At the moment we’ve acquired the car it was a “Ferrari Approved” unit purchased directly from the most prestigious Ferrari dealer AlTyer and including two years of warranty.

This particular car is an 8’800 km example, which has been impeccably maintained by just one owner and always at Ferrari dealers. It is a very rare and factory HTGE version which includes all extra sports features. Ferrari didn’t disclose the exact numbers of factory HTGE cars but it’s believed to be below 200 units for the entire world. The Ferrari 599 GTB Fiorano HGTE (HGTE being an abbreviation of Handling Gran Turismo Evoluzione) is an upgrade package for the 599 designed to improve the car’s handling. Originally delivered to Spain, the car was highly optioned including a rare and desirable “grigio Silverstone” color which makes the car even more beautiful.

Today the car presents in essentially as new condition. The paintwork has been beautifully preserved and shows glossy throughout with excellent clear reflections. There are a few very small chips in front of the car, which are only seen when viewed up close. The lighting and glass are clear and crisp with excellent detailing and superb luster. The beautiful wheels are in excellent condition, accented by the black calipers and Ferrari center crests.

The 928 represented a stark departure from Porsche’s direction up until that point. By the early 1970s, the 911 was approaching its tenth birthday and looking antiquated. Most other companies had abandoned what appeared to be the hopeless rear engined layout and as 911 sales flagged, Porsche management decided to pursue a new direction. They envisioned a thoroughly modern car to supplement, and perhaps eventually replace the 911. Where the 911 was a pure sports car, the new model would be a refined, luxurious, and sophisticated car that could effortlessly cover great distances at high speed, yet still had the performance and handling that were legendary Porsche characteristics.

Porsche’s engineers selected a front engined layout for packaging reasons, as well as a concern that rear engine cars would be made illegal in the critical US market following the backlash against the Corvair. Intitially with a fuel-injected 4.5 liter alloy V8, the 928 was a stunning technological tour de force when the first production car appeared in 1977. Its integrated polyurethane bumpers were a neat solution to new impact laws that would eventually become the industry standard, and the car was impressively aerodynamic. A transaxle coupled with an engine mounted well back in the chassis helped provide excellent weight distribution. The 928 was continuously developed over its 18 year production run, with a DOHC 5.0 liter 32-valve version of the engine appearing in 1985, significant styling revisions for 1987, and the ultimate iteration of the car appearing for the 1992 model year. This car, the 928GT is by far the most valuable and desirable variant of the car owing to its significant mechanical and cosmetic changes. A host of cosmetic changes appeared as well, including the fitment of 17 inch wheels, aero mirrors, center reflector strip at the rear of the car, and body color rear spoiler.

This particular was sold new in 1989, and was fully rebuilt by the famous Porsche specialist Porschcar where the full engine was made, the interior reupholstered, new brake discs, full service, etc…. It is believed to have been driven for just a few thousand kilometers since then. The available pictures of the fully engine rebuilt from 2015 show the owner to have been obsessive to ensure that it was always in excellent operational and looking condition. t is complete with book pouch with owner’s manual. The service book is missing but the pictures of the restoration show way more than what a book could do.

The car is in very good cosmetic condition with minor stone chips to the front of the car and a few other signs of wear and aging, but strong overall presentation. The panels are straight throughout and fit well. It doesn’t show any trace of having been crashed. The lights and lenses are excellent . The trim is excellent and the wheels are very good.
The interior is in very nice condition. The dashboard is free of cracks or warping, and the leather is in excellent condition with minor creasing to the driver’s bolster but no other wear of significance. The carpets are excellent, as is the trim on the door panels and center console. The switches, instruments, and controls are all in excellent original condition as well. The headliner is showing minor shrinkage around the dome lights but is otherwise in excellent shape. One of the neatest details of the car is the rear visors, which shade rear passengers from sunlight coming in the nearly horizontal rear window.

The spacious luggage compartment is accessed via a hatch back, and the compartment itself is trimmed in carpet to match the interior, which is excellent. The engine compartment is stock in appearance with no modifications. It is very clean.

The car runs and drives well, with no issues to report in its operation. The engine starts easily and is tremendously torquey. The car has an impressive solidity that reminds the driver of an old Mercedes. The car has a planted feel that gives the impression that the car would be tremendously stable at high speeds. The brakes are formidable and the feel is thoroughly refined and comfortable, yet rapid and highly capable at the same time.

This is an excellent opportunity to acquire a low-mileage 928 GT in great colors. The GTS is an extremely rare variant, with less than 2000 units built in total and very few in this manual and very desirable version. They are becoming increasingly collectible and this example is an excellent unit. It is complete with its tool set, and spare wheel.
